# Custom compression shirts manufacturer: the full specification your quote depends on
Buyers usually ask us for a price before they ask us for a spec. On our floor, a landed-cost number without fabric weight, stitch type, and exact print placement is just a guess. Change the GSM by 20, move a logo from the chest to a high-stretch side panel, or swap a flatlock seam for a narrow coverstitch, and both your unit price and your delivery date shift.

## Spec sheet for custom compression shirts
A compression shirt is a knit garment, not a woven one. It must recover. For that reason, we build most compression shirts on circular-knit polyester with spandex, and we can substitute nylon when you need a smoother hand or faster surface drying.
Before we cut, we lock three numbers: **fabric weight, spandex ratio, and stitch density**.
**Fabric weight options we run on our floor**
- **180–200 GSM / 15–18% spandex:** light compression. Good for yoga tops, layering under jerseys, and milder muscle support.
- **210–240 GSM / 20% spandex:** the standard training compression shirt. This is the range we produce most often for gyms and activewear brands.
- **250–270 GSM / 22–25% spandex:** strong, dense compression for recovery wear and high-intensity sessions.
If your buyer asks for a “tight” shirt but gives you no number, this is the range we ask them to choose from. A 180 GSM shirt and a 270 GSM shirt feel completely different, even with the same cutting pattern.
**Stitching spec for compression**
Stitch type controls how the shirt moves with the athlete and how long it survives washing.
- **Side seams:** we use 4-needle 6-thread flatlock on most compression shirts. Flatlock has a low profile and stretches with the fabric instead of snapping under tension.
- **Stitch density:** 11–13 stitches per 3 cm. Drop below that on a 240 GSM fabric and the seam can open under repeated stretch.
- **Hems and sleeves:** 2-needle or 3-needle coverstitch. This gives a clean double-row finish without restricting the cuff opening.
- **Neck:** bound with self-fabric or 1×1 rib. A folded elastic binding is too rigid for compression; we avoid it unless you explicitly ask for it.
**Print and embroidery placement parameters**
Print placement on compression shirts is not a visual decision only. It is an engineering decision. Place a rigid, non-stretch logo over the bicep and every rep will pull, wrinkle, and crack the print.
Our default placement chart for custom compression shirts:
- **Left chest logo:** center point 4–6 cm below the collar seam, logo width kept under 12 cm.
- **Center back:** 15–20 cm down from the high-point shoulder seam.
- **Sleeve logo:** center 6–8 cm below the shoulder seam, so it sits on the upper bicep rather than the stretch zone over the deltoid.
- **Side seam label:** placed 3 cm above the hem on the side seam, flat and heat-sealed or sewn with a soft-label material.

## Decoration methods compared
Compression fabrics stretch. The decoration must stretch with them, or the buyer gets a destroyed logo after ten washes. We use different methods depending on artwork, placement, and run size. The comparison below reflects typical piece prices for a 300-piece custom compression shirts order.

Our rule of thumb: if the logo is smaller than a fist, use silicone heat transfer. If it is large and flat, use screen print. If you want an embroidered crest, keep it away from the highest-stretch zones—we will push back on that placement in the sample review, and we would rather lose the argument now than ship a shirt that puckers around the thread after a few washes.

## Sampling process
Every bulk order flows through a physical sample first. We do not ask you to approve a computer render and then trust a factory to “sort it out” in production.
Here is the step list we use:
1. **Send your reference or artwork.** If you only have a garment to copy, tell us the target sport and compression level. We answer within 24 hours.
2. **We build a costing sheet and spec sheet.** We lock the GSM, spandex ratio, stitching type, decoration method, and where every logo sits on the garment.
3. **We make the sample.** Prototypes ship within **3–7 days**. A first sample for a cut-and-sew compression shirt typically costs **USD 40–80 per piece** before freight, depending on fabric and decoration complexity.
4. **You test the sample.** Wash it, pull it, wear it in a workout. If you ask for changes, we revise and re-cut.
5. **You approve, and we move to bulk.** A typical mid-size order of 300 pieces ships **4–6 weeks after sample confirmation**. That is production time, not including ocean freight.

All color, logo, wash label, neck label, and hang tag details are confirmed during the sample stage. Do not leave those decisions for bulk; once fabric is cut, changes are expensive and slow.
## Bulk QC checkpoints
Sampling tells us we can make one good shirt. Bulk QC tells us we can make one thousand good shirts. Our QC team does not stand at the end of the line hoping for the best. We check at five points.
**1. Fabric and shade inspection before cutting.** Every roll is graded for visual defects and shade banding. We compare a swatch from each roll against the approved Pantone master sample under a calibrated light source. Rolls from different dye lots are separated and labeled.
**2. Stitch density and seam inspection.** During production, our line supervisors pull garments at random and measure stitches per 3 cm. We also stretch-test side seams by hand. If tension causes thread breakage, the machine is stopped and re-threaded before that run continues.
**3. Print and embroidery placement.** We use printed placement templates to verify every logo position. The acceptable deviation is ±5 mm. If a logo is more than 10 mm off its approved position, that garment is marked for correction or rejected because 10 mm on a tight-fitting compression shirt shifts the visual balance noticeably.
**4. Inline wash and stretch testing.** Random garments go through a quick wash cycle and a stretch-recovery pull. We look for print cracking, seam puckering, and spandex fatigue.
**5. Final random inspection before packing.** We inspect against an AQL 2.5 major / 4.0 minor sampling plan, or your own inspection protocol if you provide one. We also leave a commented sticker on any inspected garment that shows a minor flaw only you should decide on. Those stickers give you transparency: you are buying from a factory that knows its floor, not a middleman guessing at what happened between his email inbox and the loading dock.
## FAQ
**MOQ for custom compression shirts?**
Our MOQ is **1 piece**. There is no minimum order quantity. You can print one shirt with your logo if you need a sample, a content shoot, or a market test before committing to inventory. We will not force you to over-order.
**Pantone color matching?**
Yes. We match almost all Pantone colors. Our standard fibers are polyester first and nylon second, and colors are matched on those substrates through lab dipping before bulk dyeing. Because polyester and nylon dye differently, the same Pantone color can look slightly different depending on which fabric you choose. We confirm this in the sampling stage.
**Sample cost?**
